Creating space in your business is probably one of the most important tools in order to be successful, productive, creative and abundant. Without space your energy and mind simply cannot connect as one in order to filter new ideas, problem solve or think rationally about giving your business opportunities to blossom.

When I talk about space I mean a few things: not being tied down to formula, not staying on a traditional path (which is not the path you created) or feeling guilty that you must be at your desk or available at set business hours.

Excellence in creativity and the ability to formulate wealth does not come from overworking, spending numerous hours dissecting business plans as ultimately fatigue and the feeling of forcing ideas creates a very unproductive and dangerous business cycle. If you do this, paradoxically your business will reject the energy you’re putting into it as its coming from a place of stress, strain and fear. If this is the cycle you adhere to then a ‘void’ will preset itself.

Next time you have “Business Block” try allowing yourself some space and time to do things that you enjoy. This could be doing your Yoga practice, a bush walk, swimming in the ocean or playing music as they are all forms of creative meditation and the best time for this is anytime (yes even during what society calls business hours)! Your business is a living breathing entity that requires your full undivided creative and positive attention. Only then will the explosion of great new effective and value added ideas move you forward. Don’t be a slave to the unrealistic times frames and requirements you put upon yourself – stop, breathe, stand back and let the space fill organically. Watch your business grow and remember REST = SUCCESS!
